There are multiple ways you can support Cathedral High School:
Did you know that you can donate appreciated securities to Cathedral High School?
By donating a stock you have held for more than a year, you avoid capital gains taxes and your donation is 20% greater than if you sold the stock and donated the proceeds from the sale. These three words are the touchstone of Cathedral High School:
As the largest all-girls college preparatory school in Manhattan, Cathedral High School’s melding of rigorous academics, career preparation and networking opportunities provide the requisite skills for Cathedralites to succeed in the global economy.
Since its founding in 1905, Cathedral High School has remained true to its original mandate. While the countries of origin and ethnicities of students have changed, Cathedral continues its dedication to our mission to educate underserved populations and to help break the cycle of poverty. This year’s enrollment is 496 students, primarily African-American and Hispanic, from diverse backgrounds and representing 72 countries. 61% of our students live near or below the federal poverty line, over 97% are from historically disadvantaged ethnic minorities, and 63% come from single-parent families. Yet, 100% of Cathedral’s senior class graduate each year, and many are the first in their families to go to college. The Class of 2021 received over $27M in college scholarships.
Cathedral High School is committed to providing a safe, exceptional education to promising young women. As other schools struggled last spring, Cathedral seamlessly transitioned to online learning, re-opened successfully in the fall, and has maintained in-school classes throughout this school year.
