Tuition, Scholarships & Financial Aid
Cathedral High School offers academic scholarships to incoming 9th grade students who apply to Cathedral through the TACHS exam. Scholarship consideration is only given to students who list Cathedral as their first choice on the TACHS, are an "A" student in middle school and have scored well on their TACHS exam.
These awards can vary from full to half to partial tuition scholarships. There is no separate exam for these scholarships. Notification of a scholarship award is included in the student’s acceptance letter. As long as the student maintains a 90 GPA, the scholarship will be renewed yearly.
Through the generosity of alumni, benefactors and friends of Cathedral, we are able to provide a limited number of financial aid packages to our students. The aid is based on family’s need and when granted, is limited and is not intended to be a primary source of tuition.
Financial aid packages range from $800 to $1800 per year. Families must re-apply for financial aid each year. Students who receive an academic scholarship or aid from any outside source will not be eligible to receive aid from Cathedral.
Cathedral partners with FACTS to process all financial aid applications. Applications are available online starting February 1st, please click here if you would like to apply. The application fee is $30.
The deadline to submit an application is April 1st. Applications received after this deadline will not be accepted. Families will receive an estimate of financial aid by mid-April.
- Student Sponsor Partners (SSP): Cathedral High School participates with the SSP program, an outside organization that provides high school students throughout NYC with financial and personal support. Please visit their website http://sspnyc.org/ for more information.
- Please contact your guidance counselor or school principal for more information regarding other outside financial sources. In addition to SSP, Cathedral accepts all third party scholarships, grants and tuition assistance awarded to students entering Cathedral High School.
