SCHOLARSHIPS 

1)       The Google Hispanic College Fund Scholarship Program (deadline 3/15/07) will award $5,000 to students of Hispanic background.  You must be a US citizen or permanent resident, have a GPA of 3.5 or higher and be enrolled full-time in a college Computer Science or Computer Engineering program.  The application can be found at www.hispanicfund.org

2)       Skidmore College has merit-based scholarships in Math and Science.  They award five $40,000 scholarships to students who demonstrate exceptional promise in Math and Science.  To be considered, you must respond to the Porter essay question on the Skidmore Supplement to the CommonApp.  For further information see your guidance counselor.   

3)       Discover Colleges provides a free private college information service as well as a $2,500 private college scholarship drawing.  Log onto www.discovercolleges.com to be entered for the drawing. 

4)       Key Bank is giving away a $5,000 scholarship each month from February until June 2008.  All you need to do is enter once each month for five chances to win.  Go to www.key.com/take5 to enter. 

5)       AES Engineers is offering a $500 scholarship (deadline 9/15/08).  Students must submit an essay of no more than 1000 words in answer to one of these two questions:

·         What do you consider to be the single most important problem that is facing society today? Why?

·         Why are you a good candidate to receive this award?
