Cathedral High School accepts qualified transfer students into the freshman, sophomore and junior years. Senior transfers are rarely considered, except in the case of a student moving to New York from outside the area or other special circumstances.
Typical transfer students will have good grades and show good conduct, dedication and hard work. There is no entrance exam for transfer students. The majority of students who wish to transfer mid-school year will not be accepted until January unless special circumstances apply.
To complete your application take the following steps:
- Fill in this Student Transfer Admissions Application (note: admission into Cathedral High School is not guaranteed).
- Include academic transcripts from the previous three academic school years (including current year). If you are applying before the end of a school year and an official transcript is not available, send copies of the most current report card along with the two years prior. You can send these documents by fax to (212) 754-2024, Attn: Admissions or scan and email to email@example.com.
- Teacher recommendation letters are accepted but not mandatory. If you would like to submit them please use our Teacher Recommendation form.
Once Cathedral has received your completed application, it will be reviewed and filed. You will be contacted regarding your application process. You and your parent/guardian may be asked to come in for an interview.
