 Celebrating 100 Years of Excellence!

Class of 1974
 Celebrates Their 30th Anniversary!

On September 25, 2004, the CHS Class of 1974 and St. Joseph's High School Class of 1974 celebrated their 30th High School reunion with the theme, "This One's For The Girls."  For many of our graduates, this was their first time back at the School in 30 years.  Graduates traveled from as far away as Texas, California. Puerto Rico, and Florida for this event. The reunion committee, Maura Fitton, Irene Concepcion Crespo, Sue Ann Hoahng, Zoe Lence Calix, Leonor Mora, Angela Paolicelli-Ortiz and Yvonne Velez Quinlan worked very hard to ensure that  the CHS auditorium was converted into a dinner-dance hall.

The evening began with a tour of the school, and then the partying started. A nice surprise for the girls, and for one of their honored guest was that Mr. John Breen, CHS's most winningest basketball coach, attended the reunion. He was greeted by a speech from Hamlet that Sue Ann had the girls recite.
In addition to Mr. Breen, our honored guest list was made up by Mrs. Beverly Rivera, who has since retired from Cathedral and Mr. Richard Altneu and his wife who taught the girls from St. Joe's back in 1974.

The night was very festive with the DJ playing the top ten hits from 1974, and the girls singing and
dancing as the teenagers they once were.  As a gift, the Class of 1974 donated $5,000 to CHS, half of
which was made up from a matching gift of $2,500 from J.P. Morgan Chase obtained by Zoe.
The gift has been distributed as follows: half to the graduating seniors and half to the basketball team.

As a reward for our efforts,
the graduating class of 2005 will dedicate their yearbook to the class of 1974 as gratitude of our donation.
The Class of 1974 is already planning their 35th CHS reunion.
